What to Expect When You See a Clinical Nutritionist
What to expect while visiting see a clinical nutritionist
Hi everyone, I’m Alex Osellame the new clinical nutritionist here at Bergamo Chiropractic and Nutrition Centre!
I get it, eating healthy is confusing. Complex carbohydrates, glycaemic index, polyunsaturated fats, ketogenic diets – when did it all get so complicated?
Enter a clinical nutritionist: The people trained to help us eat better, feel better and look better.
In a nutrition consult, I’ll ask you what your goals are and why you came to see me. I’ll review your family history, medical history, which includes any medications and supplements you are currently taking. I’ll then dive into your stress levels, sleep patterns, energy levels and gastrointestinal function. We’ll discuss your current diet, eating patterns, dietary preferences and cooking ability.
Throughout the consult, I will ask carefully chosen questions, so I can begin to piece together what is causing your ‘problem/s’. I will then determine the best course of treatment -weather this be, dietary changes, supplements, lifestyle recommendations – or a combination of all 3. My treatment plans are individualised for each of my clients to ensure the best outcome possible.
